Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Who we are

Portia is operated by Verity Systems Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16884817). Our registered address is 167–169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF.

If you have any questions about how we handle your data, you can reach us at privacy@useportia.ai.

What data we collect

Right now, Portia is in pre-launch. The only personal data we collect is what you provide through the waitlist form:

  • Your email address
  • Where you are in the litigation process
  • The nature of your dispute
  • Whether you currently have legal representation
  • Any additional information you choose to share (optional free text)

When Portia launches, we will also collect account information (such as your name and email) and the documents you upload to use the service. This policy will be updated before that happens.

Why we collect it

We use your waitlist information to manage early access and to let you know when Portia is ready. That's it.

Our lawful basis for processing this data is legitimate interest — we need to know who has signed up so we can give them access. If we ever send you marketing communications beyond launch notifications, we will ask for your explicit consent first.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it to train AI models. We do not share it with advertisers.

How we store it

Waitlist form submissions are processed through Formspree, a third-party form handling service. Formspree is based in the United States, which means your data is transferred internationally. Formspree processes data in accordance with their own privacy policy and applies appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

We take reasonable steps to keep your data secure, but no system is perfectly secure. We are honest about that.

Document handling

Portia hasn't launched yet, so we are not currently processing any documents. When the product is live, here is how we intend to handle them:

  • Documents will be encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Documents will be stored on secure cloud infrastructure
  • Documents will never be shared with third parties
  • Documents will never be used to train AI models

We will update this policy with full details before document uploads are enabled.

Cookies

The Portia website does not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar service.

If essential cookies are required for basic site functionality in the future, we will update this section accordingly. For now, there is nothing to opt out of.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data
  • Restrict how we process your data
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Object to our processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@useportia.ai. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Data retention

We retain your waitlist data until the product launches and you have been offered access, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first. If you'd like your data removed at any time, email privacy@useportia.ai and we will action it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time — for example, when Portia launches and we begin processing documents. When we make changes, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will notify waitlist members by email.
